Root Fillings
Sometimes a tooth is beyond simple repair but it can still be saved by having root canal treatment. This area of dentistry is known as endodontics.
All teeth have soft tissue inside called the pulp which contain nerves and blood vessels. If a tooth is severely decayed, fractured or has undergone many dental treatments, bacteria can enter the root canals and infect the pulp. This can be extremely painful so the purpose of endodontic treatment is to relieve pain, prevent or eliminate the disease within the tooth and surrounding bone and prevent further contamination from bacteria in the mouth.
Our dentists are very experienced in endodontics and by cleaning, filling and resealing the root canal can prevent further flare ups, reduce pain and save the tooth which is then restored with a crown or inlay.
